MCE was excited to provide the structural bridge design and foundation support on an active landslide for the Newell Creek Canyon Nature Park that recently opened in Oregon City, OR. The 236 acre reserve includes a network of hiking and mountain biking trails that wind through lush forested areas, offering sweeping views of creeks, falls and wildlife. As part of the design work, MCE coordinated the bridge design with the bridge manufacturer along with the landslide requirements ensuring that if movement occurs, it would not jeopardize the bridge. Due to the active landslide, MCE also generated an ongoing inspection program to observe the bridge and adjust the supports as required.
